CALL FOR PAPERS
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2007

The 13th Annual Mid-Continental Workshop on Phonology (MCWOP) will be held at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, on October 26-28, 2007.

This workshop is intended to be an informal gathering of researchers working in all areas of phonology and phonetics. Faculty and students are both welcome to present.

We are inviting the submission of abstracts for 20-minute talks on all topics in theoretical, descriptive, and experimental phonology and phonetics. We invite submissions both for the regular session and for a special session on First and Second Language Phonological Acquisition. Students are especially encouraged to submit abstracts on work in progress.

Format of Talks
20-minute oral presentation with a 10-minute question/discussion period.

Abstract Submission
- All abstracts for presentation must be submitted by September 14.
- Abstracts should be no more than 1 page excluding references, data, and tables.
- At the top of the abstract, please put:
      a) title of the paper,
      b) authors' names,
      c) authors' affiliation, and
      d) authors' contact information.
- All abstracts must be submitted electronically to mcwop@ling.osu.edu in either .pdf (preferred) or .doc format. Please make sure all phonetic fonts are embedded in .pdfs.
- In the e-mail with your submission, please indicate whether you intend your abstract as a submission to the regular session or the special session on acquisition.
-In order to accomodate all submissions and avoid having concurrent sessions, we may decide to have a special poster session. Please indicate if you would be willing to present your work as a poster.
