This tier contains the tones of Spanish as proposed in the first Sp-ToBI Workshop (The Ohio State University 1999). The following subsections describe the inventory of tones for Spanish, and give instructions on how to mark them in the Sp-ToBI tone tier. All of the pitch accents described here are tentative. The Sp-ToBI group continues to collect data and to conduct research on these issues.
