Index of Productive Syntax (IPSyn--Scarborough, 1990)

--The index of productive syntax assesses language development through four separate areas of language knowledge and structure:

Nouns:

  1. Nouns
  2. Pronouns
  3. Modifiers
  4. Two-word noun phrase, etc.

Verbs:

  1. Verbs
  2. Particle or preposition
  3. Prepositonal phrase
  4. Copula, etc.

Questions/Negations:

  1. Intonational question (Mine?)
  2. Routine question (What that? Why?)
  3. Simple negation (No talk. Not yours.)
  4. Initial wh-word followed by verb (Why make that?), etc.

Sentence Structures:

  1. Two-word combination (Here hammer)
  2. Subject-verb
  3. Verb-object
  4. Subject-verb-object, etc.
