~. . . . .me. . . . .~
what i expect this to be is random thoughts, ideas, and dreams of mine (my spelling is horrible, so watch your step)....

(pagers and cell phones will play the role of genie)

i want there to be a point in my life when i can say that i've done it all.
i think it'd be great to totally exploit this technological revolution that
we are all currently apart of. example... for the longest time, i had had
the biggest bias against personal communications devices (i.e. pagers, cell
phones). the argument against them is that you lose privacy. you become
attached to an infinite leash where instead of living a "normal" life,
carefree and unbounded, you will have that constant worry/wonder in the back
of your head about whether or not your hunk of magical plastic is going to
buzz or not. in all your busyness/anxiety, you will forget about the world
going on around you. ok, so that's the bad side. on the other hand, there
is a good to them, as well. for people of medicene, business folks, people who
travel a lot, these may be more necessary. so, i was trying to see how such
a device might help me. i mean truly help me (not help me get a business deal
or help my patients that i don't have get a hold of me). so i came up with
this dream of how i'm going to do everything that i want and how these such
devices will "truly help me"....

basically, this leash will keep me attached to whatever job i may be doing, but
i don't necessarily have to be 5 miles down the road getting my fucking suit at
the dry cleaner. i think it'd be a great thing if i could work remotely from
northern norway, glacier national park in alaska, the world cup in 2002 in
japan, while sitting on the beach in vietnam, etc.. so i could be apart of
some kind of software development and, at the same time, learn and live
something as important as another culture, another language.

the thing is, i don't want to sound like another 20 year old dreaming out loud.
i think that that these types of dreams will be more possible. it might also
be cool to .... (ok, i'm stopping, i have to go to class. more random shit
later)

(great people)

you know what... CHICKEN-BUTT!! no, but for real, some people are just
great. sounds pretty trite, but i just get so excited to see great people in
action. the best are those who want no recognition. they are just being good
because that's the only way they know how. and they make you feel proud to
just be in their presence.

(random quote)

"You can't build skyscrapers using carpenters" - Bill Curtis
this quote was in the context of programmers developing integrated systems
in the future, but it can be applicable in just about any scope involving
problems, problem solving, and macho, smart people

(mind made up)

it's funny how insistent a lot of people are about being right. how, not
even for one second, has it even crossed their mind to try something new or
look at the same things in another light. but i'm not necessarily bothered
by biases based on some sort of reasoned intuition. its more the macho i'm-
right-your-wrong shit that bugs me. there is this kind of face that a person
makes when they do this. the whole "you are so fucking dumb" look. like, one
side of their face has a stupid grin and the other side is completely relaxed..
ok, maybe that doesn't make sense. i'll point it out to you next time we ill
together.

(ann)
dumbness is everywhere.

(organization of the .me. page)

i was thinking about how i should organize this page... i think, every once
in a while, i will try and go back and cross reference ideas and opinions on
this page so that you wouldn't have to read the whole think and then piece all
my retarded theories together. or i could just start off putting heading in
parenthesis. hellz ya. werd

(slow)

at the blistering pace of one entry per year, this isn't going like i thought
but whatever, deal with it.

(real)

why waste your time playing games? there are times to be timid and there are
times to chill out. putting on a facade can be fun but what it boils down to
in some cases is its just not worth it.

(rules)

Ever just heard a rule that sounds like it was made just in order to HAVE a
rule?
