From: ddurian@ling.ohio-state.edu Date: Wed, 16 Aug 2006 14:39:59 -0400 Aug 15, 2006 Meeting Notes Today, Mary and I developed a script for extracting F1, F2, and F3 from the vowel tokens I will be analyzing in my corpus of Central Ohio speech samples. The script will be field tested in my normalization mini-study (see my Aug 9 meeting notes for more detials). Specifically, the script does the following: # For each vowel interval selected in the script "TagVowels.praat," # go through and measure F1, F2, and F3 at the 20%, 50%, and 80% points. # This will give you the measurements you need for both monophthongs # and diphthongs (or so we hope). The script--"ExtractFormants.praat" is now available on the course Web site, at: http://www.ling.ohio-state.edu/~mbeckman/795.10/scripts/
