My research focuses on how prosody influences sentence processing. My dissertation will be a study of the use of prosodic phrasing in English and Japanese ambiguous sentences which are similar in meaning and structure. Download my dissertation proposal [pdf].

I have extensive experience labeling intonation of both read and spontaneous speech using the ToBI (Tones and Break Indices)system for transcribing prosody. I have also recorded utterances with specific intonation contours for several experiments in prosody.
