TALKS AND EXPERIMENTS=20 REQUIREMENT

It is worth 50 points of your = final=20 grade and is required in every section of=20 201/202.

You can fulfill this requirement by=20 doing one = of the=20 following four things:

1. participating in two experiments = and=20 completing two questionnaires,

2. attending two talks and completing = two talk=20 questionnaires,

3. attending one talk and = participating in one=20 experiment, and completing appropriate questionnaire for = each.

GROUP PRESENTATIONS (Cl= assmate=20 email list)

There will be group = presentations on=20 topics given in the syllabus.  Each group, either on your own or = with=20 another member, will give a short presentation on their topic (10 = minutes), and=20 lead the discussion/argumentation with the class (another 10 = minutes). =20 Each group will be expected to bring in at least two examples of = relevant "real"=20 data (if applicable), two citations of views expressed in the = literature. =20 Each group is expected to do the necessary research to determine its = arguments=20 and examples on its own, though you can (and probably should) divide up = the=20 tasks among group members. Pre= sentation=20 topics and schedule can be found here. 

QUIZZES

There will be a total of 5 = quizzes.These=20 quizzes will ask about important notions and terminology covered in the=20 class.No make-up quizzes will be given unless evidence is = provided=20 of a university-accepted excuse such as personal illness or family = emergency, as=20 detailed in the student handbook.


EXAMS

There will be one mid-term and one final = exam: make=20 sure that you can make the exams before committing to this = course.=20 No make-ups will be given unless you have documented proof of a = university=20 accepted reason (your illness or a family emergency): in that case, you = must=20 inform me before taking the exam or right after an emergency. Otherwise, = no=20 excuses will be accepted.
