Music by David Durian (and Others)
: Jazz Catastrophe

Jazz Catastrophe was my third, and probably most notable, high school band. The band originally formed when keyboardist Rob Potter and drummer Archie Cocke began playing together in 1990. I joined on bass guitar in 1992. We played under a variety of names throughout this time period, including "The Ravishing Roebucks." A picture from that gig--where we played a Sears in Lansing, IL--appears on this page (with Dustin Sladcik on guitar).

In late 1992, Randall Stewart joined on guitar, and we settled on the name "Jazz Catastrophe." We went on to play a few shows throughout 1993 and record an album on cassette known as A la mode. In 2000, the band, minus Randall, reunited to remaster
the album for CD, and we also recorded a few new songs. Since then, the band has again parted ways, although Rob, Archie, and I continue to collaborate occassionally on each other's individual recordings.

Some of Rob's most recent solo work (from 2006) can be heard here.
