Prereq: 622 or Sanskrit 622 or permission of instructor;Repeatable to a maximum of 15 credit hours
Possible topics include advanced classical Sanskrit; introductory Vedic Sanskrit, Indo-Iranian or Indo-Aryan linguistics, or studies in the ancient Indian grammarians.
Topics covered change from year to year, depending on interests of the instructor and/or the students. The topic for 1985, 1989, and 1991 was Introduction to Vedic Sanskrit, and in 1987 the topic was Advanced Classical Sanskrit. In Autumn 2004, it is offered as an Introduction to Vedic Sanskrit.
